Lubbock Youth Orchestras (LYO) is the youth component of the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra (LSO), a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Lubbock, Texas.

Lubbock Youth Orchestras (LYO) manifested as a response to overwhelming public need for an affordable youth orchestra program. A program of this type prioritizes unbiased musical expression and education open to all the youth of the South Plains region.

The mission of LYO is:

• To provide exceptional music education to the members of the orchestras

• To provide quality artistic performances that enrich the lives of developing musicians and the greater community

• To work cooperatively with public and private schools, independent music teachers, local music organizations, and businesses in a continuing effort to provide musical development for the youth in our region

• To create a safe and welcoming environment for our students based in respect, empathy, and inclusion
